Heaven Comes to Earth

Christmas is about the kingdom of God breaking into the kingdom of earth. The mighty messiah arrives as a vulnerable, powerless baby, sleeping in a manger, not in the beautiful temple adorned with gold; the birth announcement is given to lowly shepherds working in the fields, not to the religious leaders feasting at a banquet. The kingdom of God is better than we imagined, and it is available to all of us right now.
