The Letter to Sardis

Often, we hear spiritual death described as “separation.” The argument runs: “Just as physical death is the separation of the soul from the body, so spiritual death is the separation of the spirit from God.” 

Of course, this is strictly true, but I believe that when God talks in the Scriptures about spiritual death, maybe He’s primarily talking about unresponsiveness. This morning, we will look at the words written to the church at Sardis and see how God desires to awaken spiritually asleep people.
